Faculty Research Data Center & KBS Labs

Sixteen Bloomberg Terminals are located in the Department of Finance lab “Financial Trading Center” (Room 277, 4th Floor, Building 24). Currently, the labs are closed for graduate and undergraduate students due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Bloomberg service is accessible remotely. Only faculty can access the labs with strict SOPs.

Due to COVID-19 situation, Bloomberg provides Bloomberg’s Disaster Recovery service to provide temporary remote access to Bloomberg, no matter where students and faculty are located. KBS has arranged with Bloomberg to provide you with this service now.

What is a Bloomberg terminal?

A Bloomberg terminal is an advanced computer system for professionals in business (primarily finance) and other industries to access, monitor and analyze real-time financial market data and place trades on its electronic trading platform. The system also provides up-to-date news, price quotes and messaging across its network.

Our Bloomberg subscription allows students to:

  • Monitor real-time financial market changes and their effects
  • Track financial market news
  • Compare stocks and company information
  • Access industry overviews
  • Track foreign exchange, gold and oil trade information
  • Build and maintain stock/bond portfolios, and much more.

Bloomberg Disaster Recovery

To provide you with the best support during these difficult times, KBS arranged with Bloomberg to provide you with the Bloomberg’s Disaster Recovery service which will enable remote access to Bloomberg Terminals for faculty or students who require access for teaching or research purposes

The KFUPM Business school is pleased to announce that 12 Disaster Recovery (DR) Terminals are available for school use to mitigate the loss of the Bloomberg Lab while the school remains closed to in-person students’ attendance.

Faculty and students can access the available shared terminals  in the lab 277. If no available shared terminals, the users will see a message informing them that all terminals are in use and will not be able to log in until someone logs off.

Also, faculty can access the terminals in-person by visiting Lab 161, or the instructor’s machine at Lab 277.
